This Privacy Policy explains what information Block Battle collects when you play on Android or iOS, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, contact us at proteabyte@gmail.com.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
You can play Block Battle without an account. To save your scores and use the leaderboards, you can sign in with Google or, on Apple devices, with Sign in with Apple. If you do, we receive and store:
- Your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", this is a private relay address created by Apple.
- Your name or display name, which becomes your player name
- A link to your profile picture, if your Google account has one
- A unique account ID assigned by Firebase Authentication
We never receive your Google or Apple password.
1.2 Game Data
We store your scores, best scores, number of games played, lines cleared, the final board of each completed game, the game length you chose, your leaderboard entries, and your Daily Challenge scores and streak, together with when each game was played. We also store your in-app settings, such as sound and notification preferences, with your account.
1.3 Profile Pictures You Choose
If you pick a profile picture from your photo library, the image stays on your device. We do not upload it. The app only accesses your photos when you tap to choose a picture.
1.4 Device, Usage and Diagnostic Information
The services listed in section 4 automatically collect:
- Device model, operating system version and app version
- App and installation identifiers
- Approximate location (country or region), worked out from your IP address
- How you use the app, such as games started and finished, and sign-ins
- Crash reports and performance information
We do not link this information to your Block Battle account.
1.5 Advertising Information
Block Battle shows ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google receives information such as the ads you see and tap, device and app identifiers, and your approximate location. On iOS, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is only accessed if you allow tracking when asked. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Run your account and keep you signed in
- Save your scores and statistics
- Run the leaderboards
- Show ads, which keep the game free to play
- Fix crashes and improve the game
- Reply to you when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information.
3. What Other Players Can See
Leaderboards are visible to every signed-in player. Other players can see your player name, your profile picture and your scores. Your email address is never shown or shared with other players.
4. Third-Party Services
Block Battle relies on these services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore (our database), Analytics and Crashlytics. Firebase privacy

5. Your Advertising Choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before Google uses your information for personalised ads. Where this applies, you can change your choice at any time under Profile → Privacy options. On iOS, if you are asked whether to allow tracking, you can change your answer later in the Settings app under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your account data, game data and in-app settings are stored on Google Cloud through Firebase, encrypted in transit and at rest. Security rules limit access to your account data to your own account, apart from the leaderboard information described in section 3.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account and game data until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, statistics and saved games from our database and deletes your sign-in account straight away.
Your leaderboard scores stay on the leaderboards so the standings remain fair, but they no longer show your name or picture. They appear as "Deleted Player". Analytics, crash and advertising information held by Google is not linked to your account and is kept according to Google's retention policies.
8. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Profile, tap Delete Account, confirm, and sign in once more to prove it is you. Deletion happens immediately.

9. Your Rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it or delete it, and withdraw your consent to personalised ads. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, South Africa's POPIA or California's CCPA. To exercise any of them, email us.
10. Children
The game's content is suitable for all ages, but Block Battle is not directed at children under 13. Saving scores to the leaderboards needs a Google or Apple account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Users
Block Battle is available worldwide. Your information is processed on Google's servers, which may be located outside your country.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above.
